Students’ Perspectives on Using Artificial in Academic Writing

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has greatly impacted English language learning, especially It adopted a descriptive quantitative approach through a survey. The sample included 20 fourth-semester students, with 16 females and 4 males. Data were gathered via an online Likert-scale questionnaire focusing on AI’s benefits, ease of use, and challenges in academic writing. Descriptive statistics, such as percentages and mean scores, were used to analyze the responses. Results showed that most students viewed AI positively, citing its help in idea generation, grammar correction, vocabulary enhancement, and increasing writing efficiency. Some students, however, expressed concerns about overdependence on AI and its possible effects on critical thinking. Overall, AI was seen as a helpful tool for boosting students’ academic writing skills.
